Riverside PS

2024-2025 Safe and Inclusive School Planlearning triangle

Our school is committed to providing all students with a safe, caring, and inclusive learning environment free from bullying and harassment that promotes respect, acceptance, and empathy.

Staff, students, parents and caregivers, and community partners will work together as a team to help make our school safe and welcoming for everyone.

The Safe and Inclusive School Plan highlights some of the key actions that our school community will put in place as part of our bullying prevention and intervention efforts.

Key Priorities and Goals

This year we are focusing on continuing to increase Student Voice at Riverside.

We are doing this to increase voice for students who may experience barriers in education for various reasons and need a safe way to communicate concerns, ask for help, and express their thoughts about how they feel at school.

Key Actions or Strategies

  • Having a monthly online student wellness check-in.
  • Continuing the online anonymous reporting system that can be used by students, as well as families.
  • Inviting speakers, such as Leroy Hibbert into school to speak about anti-racism, cultural diversity, and how to identify and overcome barriers.

Community and Home Connections

  • Ask your child if they feel heard and understood at school.
  • Try suggesting that they use one of the systems available to express their voice.
